A Wonderful Non-Profit I Deeply Support
"Americans are incredibly blessed people. We take it for granted that all we have to do is turn on a tap for a clean glass of water.
It really humbles you and causes you to say 'thank you' to God for all we have."
It's a Global Crisis That Affects Us All...
Water. It is at the heart of a daily crisis faced by a billion of the world's most vulnerable people -- a crisis that threatens life and destroys livelihoods on a devastating scale.
Unlike war and terrorism, the global water crisis does not make media headlines, despite the fact that it claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns. Unlike natural disasters, it does not rally concerted international action, despite the fact that more people die each year from drinking dirty water than from the world's hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, and earthquakes combined.
This is a silent crisis experienced by the poor,
and tolerated by those with the resources, technology, and the political
power to end it. Yet this is a crisis that is holding back human
progress, consigning large segments of humanity to lives of poverty,
vulnerability, and insecurity.
At Living Water International, they are addressing this most basic of needs by helping deprived communities acquire safe, clean water. Their goal is to substantially ease the global water crisis while addressing root causes such as injustice, oppression, and abject poverty. As this happens, communities and worldviews are transformed, both among those in desperate physical need, and among those who have been blessed with much.To read more about Living Water International...click here
How YOU Can Help....The recent Living Water International 2012 gala, IMMERSED, was a stunning success. Imagine being Samuel Ojok, his first time to leave Uganda, standing in front of 1,400 people in Houston's biggest ballroom. He amazed everyone! So did Jairo from Nicaragua, and just wait till you hear the speaker from India, a mother of 40 children. You also won't want to miss the vision of Mike Mantel, CEO of Living Water.
Watch the whole event online here! (click this link)
Here's the other thing: they set a goal of raising $2.5 million through IMMERSED. They came so close! Nearly 1,400 attendees helped raise $2,493,500--more than any Living Water International gala in history! But they want to be able to give Samuel and the other speakers from Nicaragua and India a call to say, "You did it!"
They're only $6,500 shy of their $2.5 million goal -- please help push them over the edge! A gift of just $5 or $10 will do it! Help them send that exciting email to their friends in Uganda, Nicaragua and India by giving now! (please click on this link to donate whatever you can - 100% is tax deductible).
Thank you for taking the time to learn about and hopefully support, Living Water International.
All My Love,
