Lubbock Centennial Celebration
I flew into Lubbock in the middle of a snow storm on March 27 and went right to rehearsal for Lubbock's Centennial Celebration. What a joy when I met Maestro Tomasz Golka and began rehearsal with the wonderful Lubbock Symphony!

Here I am on stage with Producer Don Caldwell looking on. Don did a wonderful job putting together the three-hour show, "Celebrating 100 Years & Beyond." Everything was very organized and ran smoother than any Hollywood 'extravaganza' I have ever been involved in.
It was so great to see my "Birdie" friends show up at rehearsal. (l. to r.): Jan, Karen, Ann, Karen's husband Dale, David Gaschen, Ralna and Ann's husband, Kenneth. World-renowned singer David Gaschen has performed the role of Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera" all over the world (including Broadway).
Mac Davis was a wonderful host for the
Centennial Celebration. We reminisced about
our Lubbock High School days.
(PS...we dated in high school -- lucky me!)
Many great performers graced the stage that evening on March 28th in Lubbock. Terry Cook has sung with most of the major opera companies around the world...namely those in New York, Berlin, Toyko, London, Milan, Rome, Madrid, Cairo, and the list goes on. His rendition of Showboat's "Old Man River" that evening stopped me in my tracks. (Julie, our daughter, was named after "Julie" in "Showboat.")

country group, Lone Star,
Richie McDonald, was a favorite.
Donnie Allison received rave reviews for his
portrayal of Buddy Holly in
"The Buddy Holly Story." Donnie is loved by many in Lubbock.
only "real" job I ever had was at Service Abstract and Title Company in
Lubbock for one year following my graduation from high school.|
Here I am backstage with my good friend, and co-worker at Service Title,
Nina Merriott. It was such a honor for me when Nina named her daughter after me many years ago.
