Phoenix Chorale 2012

chorale1.jpgI had one of the most joyous, uplifting musical experiences of my life last month when I went to see the Phoenix Chorale in a performance titled, "Rock of Ages" under the artistic direction of the incredible Charles Bruffy. I literally couldn't take my eyes off of him when he was conducting. One of the guest musicians was the famous composer, Dove Award-winning, Mark Hayes. Mark's 850 published original compositions and arrangements are widely acclaimed and performed across the nation. He is one of God's gracious gifts to the world. (l. to r.): Mark Hayes, Ralna and Charles Bruffy.

Another guest was Norwegian-born composer, Ola Gjello. This young man was invited to be the first Composer-in-Residence of the Chorale. His recording of "Northern Lights" with the Phoenix Chorale is one I will cherish.
